a few words about me

and my artistic journey

My name is Eva Hrebáková, I was born in 1990 and I come from Karlovy Vary. I lived for a few years in the north of Bohemia, where I rented my first studio. Until then I painted wherever I could. Even in the basement. Now I'm back in my hometown.

My parents led me to art from childhood. I took ceramics and art classes and danced. But in my teens, like every teenager, I had completely different interests, so I took a break for a "few" years. I came back to painting about four years ago, and for the last year I have been trying to become more actively involved and moving forward in small steps.

My favourite paintings are colourful abstract paintings, and I like to experiment with colour combinations. My main medium is acrylic and all its forms- paints, sprays and inks and markers. I like to use texture in my paintings to make the painting more dimensional and to make it feel more human.

Here on the website are my paintings from 2023-2024. In 2023 my main subject was circles and their symbolism. Last year it was the female body. I called this series Bella Donna and it's basically a kind of diary of my most powerful experiences.

Abstract art gives us endless possibilities for self-expression and everyone can find their own thing in it. For me personally, painting and creating is a form of therapy. When I paint, I don't think about anything but the colours and my hands basically guide me. At that moment I feel free.I put only positive energy into my paintings. I would like everyone who gets one of my paintings for their home to feel the same joy that I do.

WHAT'S NEW

upcoming projects

For the time being, the year 2025 is in the spirit of constant work on new paintings and participation in many exhibitions.

In January and February I participated in two group exhibitions in Prague. In March, I confirmed my participation in the prestigious PRAGUE ART MEETING, where I was invited.

From the end of March I will have my next solo exhibition in Lurago gallery in Chomutov!

And in April I will participate in a joint international exhibition in Vienna, where I was selected from hundreds of applicants. This is probably the biggest achievement in my artistic career so far.

The last confirmed event is currently a mini solo exhibition in Chrudim, which will be open 24/7. I will be exhibiting there from 1.8.2025, for 6 weeks.
